Prescriptions

CHANGES TO YOUR MEDICATION

From time to time your medication may change:-

  • From a tablet to capsule or vice versa
  • From one brand to another
  • Another equivalent medication

Your doctor will only do this if the new medication is as good as or better at treating your condition. Making such changes helps to ensure that every penny spent on your local NHS is spent wisely.

This practice participates in the Wirral Prescribing Incentive Scheme. This scheme aims to increase the quality and cost effectiveness of prescribing.

If you have any queries about these changes to your medication please speak to a member of staff at the practice or if you prefer your local pharmacist.

For reasons of safety we are unable to accept repeat prescription requests over the telephone requests MUST be in writing and can be ordered:

At the surgery Using the prescription counterfoil or the pre-printed slip available at the desk in our foyer.

Register for the NHS App If you wish to continue to order your prescriptions electronically and you would like to be able to book appointments via the web please download the NHS App.  NHS App and your NHS account – NHS (www.nhs.uk)
You can register for electronic prescribing at any pharmacy or at the surgery – order your repeat prescription as usual and it will go directly to that pharmacy for collection.
From your local pharmacy Most pharmacies will arrange to collect and dispense your prescription for you. However, they are unable to order medication on your behalf. Ask at your pharmacy for further details and remember to allow extra time for this process to be completed.

Prescription Ordering 

From 4th January 2022 we will no longer be providing a same day prescription service. Requests received on working days before 10:30am will be ready for collection after 3:30pm the next working day. If you have signed up to the electronic prescription service (EPS) your prescription will be ready to collect from your nominated pharmacy.

    Early Appointments are available on a Wednesday Morning with our Practice Nurse and HCA - please book these with Reception.
