To request a routine appointment, you can:
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with. This means we can understand how urgent your problem is and identify the most suitable doctor, nurse, or health professional to help you. This is under the instruction of our doctors. Our reception team is trained to direct you to the most appropriate service and any information shared with the reception team is treated as strictly confidential and will only be shared with the relevant clinicians.
As of February 2024, patients can now get treatment for seven common conditions directly from their local pharmacy, without the need for a GP appointment or prescription. Please click here for more information about Pharmacy First.
Early appointments are available on Wednesday mornings with our practice nurse and HCA. Please book these with reception.
If you contact us online, we will be in touch within two working days during our opening hours of 8am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Practice nurse appointments can be made by contacting the surgery either by telephone or in person. These cannot be booked online as each appointment may require a different amount of time.
You can also book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6:30pm) or on the weekend. These appointments are usually held at Miriam Medical Centre, Birkenhead. Speak to our reception team to find out more or to book an appointment.
If you feel that you require an urgent (same-day) appointment, we ask that you please call us as early as possible on 0151 638 9333.
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you:
Appointments by phone, video call, or by text/email can be more flexible and often mean the doctor or nurse can consult with you sooner.
Home visits are available for housebound patients or patients who are too unwell to attend the surgery. We please ask that you call us before 10:30am on the day so we can accommodate your request.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, it is important that you let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment to another patient. You can cancel your appointment by calling our reception team, by following the instructions on your text message appointment reminder (if we have your mobile phone number) or via the NHS App. If you wish to change your appointment to another day or time, please call us.
Medical and nursing students will attend the surgery from time to time. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. However, you will be informed of their presence in advance and if you do not want them to be present in your consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.
