Help and Support over the Christmas Period

Mental Health Crisis

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, they can contact the CWP Crisis Line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on: 0800 145 6485 (freephone).

If somebody is in a life-threatening emergency, they can attend Accident and Emergency or contact 999.

Alternatively, someone experiencing a mental health crisis can attend, in person, Companeros, a crisis café run in collaboration with Cheshire Wirral Partnership and The Spider Project. This service is open 1pm-10pm daily, 365 days a year and can be found at: 2a Price Street, Birkenhead, CH41 6JN. Samaritans are available on 116 123 24/7, 365 days a year (freephone)

 

Food Emergencies

Citizens Advice Wirral will close between the period 24th December 2021 and 4th January 2022. If someone is in need of emergency food support during this period they can contact:

Wirral Coronavirus Helpline on: 0151 666 5050 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. CLOSED 27th, 28th December and 3rd January)

Or Emergency out office hours support through CADT Adult Social Care, between 5pm – 9am Monday – Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday, 0151 677 6557 For information about foodbank opening times over the festive period, please see the table below.

If someone is looking for a Christmas meal/ some company over Christmas Eve/ Christmas Day, the following organisations have events planned (please note: these are mostly on a book in advance basis):

Equilibrium North West CIC: 11am – 2pm Christmas Day. Livingstone Street Play & Community Centre CH41 3HX. Call 0151 647 6044 to book.

Charles Thompson Mission: Open Christmas Day at Hemingford Street, Birkenhead CH41 4AP. Call 0151 647 7303 to book.

Tomorrow’s Women Wirral: Beckwith St East, Birkenhead, Merseyside CH41 3JE. £1 Christmas Meal on Christmas Eve 12pm. Open to adult women 18+ – call admin on 0151 647 7907 to book 9am – 4:30pm A
